This report, produced by PRWG – Iraq and led by its Technical Coordinator, explores the climate-induced tensions and intercommunal dynamics in Bashiqa, Nineveh. Drawing on a community-led focus group discussion, it reveals how water scarcity, pollution, post-ISIS recovery, and unequal governance intersect with historic grievances to fuel tensions among Yazidis, Shabak, Christians, and other communities. The report underscores the destructive impact of resource competitionenvironmental degradation, and economic marginalisation—particularly in agriculture—and highlights the consequences of political exclusion and social isolation.
